First of all, a big congratulations to Jenn for the opening of her store, SCOUT, in Pound Ridge, NY!

This past weekend, we were thrilled to co-host a launch party with Emily Blunt, sharing Jenn's curated beauty and skincare picks, and of course, her favorite leather bags, with clients and customers. New Yorkers – head upstate and pay SCOUT a visit!

Hey Jenn! How about a quick intro?

Hi! My name is Jenn Streicher, and as of about a year ago, I live in Bedford, New York with my husband and son. I'm a celebrity makeup artist and the founder of Scout, a curated and (mostly) clean beauty store and website.

Emily Blunt + Jenn Streicher celebrate the launch of SCOUT in partnership with Parker Clay and Furtuna Skin.

How did you get started in the beauty space, then transition from artist to businesswoman?
I started doing makeup straight out of high school at a makeup counter while attending college. It wasn't until I moved to NYC that I realized I could make a career doing freelance work, so I honed in on that for several years. My sisters and I had all been working in beauty, and one day, someone suggested that we join forces and open a beauty space – STRIIIKE was born. I spent about 6 years working on that project while continuing to pursue my freelance career in LA. While the world was shut down last year, I decided to make a move back to the east coast and settled in the beautiful Westchester area of New York - about an hour outside the city. It quickly became apparent that there was a huge need for a clean beauty resource in the area and the timing was perfect. I continue to work with my celebrity clients, but right now SCOUT is my new baby.

What prompted your move to Upstate NY?
During the pandemic, like many others, my husband and I started thinking about where we really wanted to spend our time and raise our son. Once we stopped having to consider schools, offices, and various in-person professional obligations, we were able to consider truly being anywhere - Bedford is our happy place - and now here we are! I love the easy access to nature- all the trees, the lushness, the rain and the humidity. I love the slower pace of life, our big lawn and all the space. The only things I really miss about LA are my family and friends.

How do you define community? What is the power of community?
Spending time and opening a business in a small town has really opened my eyes to how important community is! I've developed strong friendships with the other business owners on my block and it feels so nice to be able to have the camaraderie and support which has made me feel safe and secure and has really brought out the best in me!! Opening Scout has given me the opportunity to connect with people near and far, and has really expanded my network.

What makes you proud to be a part of the Parker Clay community?
I truly believe in what Parker Clay is doing! I love working with a company who not only makes beautiful products but is helping to create a safe and productive environment for women who might not be able to achieve those things on their own. And the products – I love my Merkato Tote and use it just about every day! Some days I'll trade it out for my Abby Backpack. When I go out to dinner or an event, I love carrying my Padaro Bag. And the new Eleni is stunning!

What is one small way you work to affect positive change each day?
I feel pretty strongly that women (and men!) don't need to waste 30 minutes and 50 products (with ridiculous prices) to look or feel good. I like to encourage people to enhance what they already have, which is a message I don't think we hear very often. Sometimes less really is more!

What's up next for Jenn?
I am really focusing my efforts on the opening of Scout and the STRIIIKE subscription beauty box my sisters and I recently launched - where we curate our favorite products in beauty, wellness and lifestyle, delivered direct to your doorstep, seasonally.
