Every month, we'll be bringing you Q&A's with new members of our team in Ethiopia, to continue building the bridges and uniting us all under one common goal – a better bag for a better world.
Meet The Maker: Hurwey
Hurwey "Baby" Yemanehbrihan, Packing Associate
What does your job entail? What happens on your average day at work?
I work in packing items, storing and organizing the recently arrived leather, and when assistants need different pieces, I'm the one that finds what they need and provides it to them.
What is your favorite thing about working for Parker Clay?
The fact that I’m working makes me happy! I'm also happy that I’m always getting to learn new things while on the job. I love that I get along with all my coworkers, but the extra benefit here is the work that we do and the impact it has for people.
What's your favorite Parker Clay product?
I would say Atlas, because I really like the simplicity and it looks great on guys.
What's your favorite food and drink?
I love steak, I wouldn't eat anything else if that was possible! If we're talking about a drink drink, then I would say whiskey, if not… Coke.
What do you like to do in your free time?
During my free time I like just relaxing at home. I usually mix music, I have a mixer and I used to be a DJ before. I didn’t go to school or get trained for it, I'm 100% self taught (laughs).
What's your favorite day of the year?
I love celebrating Epiphany. The ceremony and the culture behind it are amazing, and the colors and music make it a lot of fun.
If you had to leave Ethiopia, what would you miss the most?
I’ve lived outside of Ethiopia before and I honestly didn’t miss anything! But if I had to leave without my mother, then I would miss her very much.
